About Guangyu
Guangyu is the leader of McKinsey’s Greater China Public Sector Practice. He is an expert on regional economic development, sustainable urbanization, as well as state-owned enterprise (SOE) transformation. He has been personally involved in most of McKinsey’s public sector engagements in a dozen leading cities across China and other emerging markets. He has advised senior management of leading SOEs in China on a wide range of strategic, organizational and operational issues along their transformation journey.
Recent Engagements
From Nanjing Road in Shanghai, to emerging cities in Central and Western China, to African and South American cities, Guangyu has led many of McKinsey’s world-wide studies on economic development and sustainable urbanization. He is also a trusted advisor to some of China’s leading SOEs, helping his clients tackle their most complex transformational challenges. Guangyu is a frequent speaker at leading city development and urbanization conferences across Greater China.
Education
Guangyu holds an MBA from INSEAD from France. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Entrepreneurship from McGill University in Canada. A native speaker of Chinese (including Mandarin, Shanghainese and Cantonese), he is fluent in English and proficient in French.
