About Kenny

Kenny is a co-leader of McKinsey’s Greater China Financial Institutions Practice and Head of the Marketing and Sales Practice for Financial Institutions in Asia. Kenny is also the Head of McKinsey’s Private Banking and Wealth Management Practice in Asia. Kenny is an expert on private banking, wealth management and retail banking, and has been personally involved in most of McKinsey’s private banking engagements across Asia. He has advised senior management of leading financial institutions across China, India, Taiwan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Korea and Japan on a wide range of strategic, financial and operational issues.

For the past 7 years, Kenny has led McKinsey’s Asia-wide study of consumer insights in retail banking, with over 50,000 consumer interviews conducted. He is a prolific writer and has authored articles for the Financial Times, Hong Kong Economic Journal, the McKinsey Quarterly, amongst others. His research and commentary on financial topics have recently appeared in the Economist andThe Wall Street Journal. Kenny is a frequent speaker at leading wealth management conferences across Greater China.

Before joining McKinsey, Kenny worked for the US law firm Shearman & Sterling in New York, counseling multinational corporations on M&A transactions and NYSE/Nasdaq public offerings.

Education

Kenny graduated with an MA with honors in law from Oxford University and Magna Cum Laude with a BS in finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where he was named a Joseph Wharton Scholar and Benjamin Franklin Scholar.
